UFC on Fox 13 now has a 185-pound pairing pitting Derek Brunson against Ed Herman.
UFC officials announced the bout on Wednesday. UFC on Fox 13 takes place at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix and also includes a heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem and Stefan Struve.
The last time Herman fought inside the Octagon was UFC Fight Night “Brown vs. Silva,” where “Short Fuse” cruised to a unanimous decision victory against Rafael Natal. The 33-year-old has fought under the UFC banner 16 times, accruing a record of 9-6 with one no contest. Herman has alternated between wins and losses in his last four outings.
Brunson was last in action at UFC 177 in Sacramento, Calif., besting Lorenz Larkin on points. The Jackson-Wink MMA product has only tasted defeat once since joining the UFC ranks from Strikeforce, losing via technical knockout to Yoel Romero at UFC Fight Night “Rockhold vs. Philippou.” In addition to Larkin, Brunson has defeated Chris Leben and Brian Houston.
