Dennis Bermudez, Maximo Blanco to Lock Horns at UFC Fight Night in Boston on Jan. 17

A featherweight showdown pitting Dennis Bermudez against Maximo Blanco has been added to the UFC Fight Night "Dillashaw vs. Cruz" lineup.

The Boston Herald first reported the bout on Thursday. UFC Fight Night takes place TD Garden in Boston and is headlined by a bantamweight title tilt between T.J. Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz.

After a seven-fight winning streak propelled Bermudez to the brink of contention, “The Ultimate Fighter 14” finalist has lost his last two in the Octagon. “The Menace” suffered a first-round submission loss to Ricardo Lamas at UFC 180 last November before falling to Jeremy Stephens via third-round TKO at UFC 189 on July 11.

Blanco, meanwhile, enters the matchup on the strength of three straight victories. The 32-year-old Venezuelan has bested Mike de la Torre, Daniel Hooker and Andy Ogle in his last three appearances, improving his overall record within the Las Vegas-based promotion to 4-3.
