Daniel Cormier will face Ryan Bader in a light heavyweight contest at UFC Fight Night “Cormier vs. Bader” on June 6.

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the pairing on Wednesday. The bout will serve as the card’s main event and will air on Fox Sports 1 from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

Cormier, 35, is coming off the first defeat of his career, a unanimous decision loss against Jon Jones at UFC 182. The former Strikeforce heavyweight will attempt to return to No. 1 contender status against another fighter with a strong wrestling background. The fight will be Cormier’s sixth under the UFC banner and the second consecutive time he has been part of the main event.

Bader, 31, has strung together four consecutive wins since being finished by Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night “Teixeira vs. Bader” in 2013. “Darth” is coming off a split decision win over Phil Davis in January and has not finished a fight since UFC on Fox 6, when he submitted Vladimir Matyushenko via guillotine choke.
