Daley Double-Dips at BAMMA 7, Ringside 12 This Fall

Paul Daley will fight twice in just over five weeks, as the British welterweight is slated to square off with Jordan Radev and Luigi Fioravanti under the banners of the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts and Ringside MMA, respectively.

Up first for the heavy-handed UFC veteran will be Radev at BAMMA 7 on Sept. 10. The show emanates from the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England.

Radev, 35, has won 12 of his last 13 bouts. A former freestyle wrestling Olympian, the Bulgarian grappler holds 13 of his 23 career wins by decision. Radev made two Octagon appearances in 2007, falling to Drew McFedries and Dean Lister, respectively. The eight-year pro has won three straight fights heading into his showdown with Daley, most recently earning a split decision over Maro Perak in May.

Following his meeting with Radev, Daley will lock horns with Fioravanti in the headlining attraction of Ringside 12, going down Oct. 21 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

The “Italian Tank” Fioravanti has lost back-to-back fights following a five-fight winning streak. A veteran of UFC, MFC and M-1 competition, the American Top Team representative has competed four times already in 2011. In April, the Floridian was outpointed by Andrei Semenov and followed that loss with a decision defeat two months later to Joe Doerksen.

A loser in each of his last two contests, Daley earned four consecutive wins before challenging Nick Diaz for the Strikeforce welterweight title in April. Though the Brit wobbled the champion early in the frame, it was Diaz who would have the final say, knocking Daley out with only three seconds remaining in the opening period.

Daley then lost a decision to All-American wrestler Tyron Woodley in July. Though “Semtex” displayed improved takedown defense and surprising offense off his back, Woodley’s top game proved too potent and “T-Wood” was declared the victor on all three scorecards.
