"If the girls from MMA don’t want to accept the fights, let the girls of boxing know #cyborgnation isn’t scared of a challenge,” wrote Justino, who has spent some time training with two-time Olympic gold medalist boxer Claressa Shields.
Justino claimed the vacant women’s featherweight crown with a third-round technical knockout of Tonya Evinger at UFC 214 on July 29. According to MMAFighting, Justino’s UFC contract expires in October, although the promotion has a one-year negotiation window because she is a champion.
After her victory over Evinger, Justino expressed interest in a title defense against Holly Holm, and UFC President Dana White seemed to like the idea of the fight, as well. While the UFC is reportedly attempting to book that fight, it has not yet come to fruition, according to the report.
