“I got a call asking if I would fight (Megan Anderson) in her home country and I said yes,” Justino wrote.
UFC 221 takes place at Perth Arena in Perth, Australia on Feb. 10 and is headlined by a middleweight title bout between Robert Whittaker and Luke Rockhold. The card will also see Mark Hunt face Curtis Blaydes in a heavyweight duel.
Justino is coming off a five-round verdict over former bantamweight queen Holly Holm in the UFC 219 headliner on Dec. 30. It was the first time the Brazilian went the distance since she outpointed Yoko Takahashi at EliteXC “Heat” on Oct. 4, 2008. “Cyborg” had earned TKO stoppages of Tonya Evinger, Lina Lansberg and Leslie Smith in her first three Octagon appearances.
A native of Queensland, Australia, the 27-year-old Anderson has won her last four bouts under the Invicta FC banner. Most recently, Anderson scored a second-round TKO of Charmaine Tweet at Invicta FC 21 to claim the promotion’s interim featherweight title. She was later promoted to undisputed champion after Justino vacated the crown to move to the UFC.
