Promotion officials confirmed the pairing on Friday afternoon. The event marks the UFC’s first trip to Ottawa; a venue for the card, which will be headlined by a 170-pound tilt between Rory MacDonald and Stephen Thompson, has not yet been announced.

After a first-round TKO loss to Rafael dos Anjos ended Cerrone’s eight-fight Octagon winning streak in December, “Cowboy” made a successful welterweight debut, submitting Alex Oliveira at UFC Fight Night in Pittsburgh on Feb. 21. The Jackson-Wink MMA standout is 16-4 over the course of his promotional tenure.

A former middleweight title challenger, Cote has experienced a resurgence during his latest UFC run, winning six of his last seven fights. “The Predator” went 3-0 in 2015, finishing Ben Saunders and Joshua Burkman while taking a decision against Joe Riggs.
