McGregor took home “Best Fighter,” while Holm received “Best Upset” on Wednesday night at a ceremony held in Los Angeles.

“The Notorious” Irishman bested UFC welterweight champ Robbie Lawler, and boxers Gennady Golovkin and Roman Gonzalez for the honor, making it the second consecutive year a mixed martial artist has earned “Best Fighter” after Ronda Rousey won it in 2015. McGregor was also nominated in the “Breakthrough Athlete” category, but Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta took that honor.

McGregor went 3-0 in 2015, including a 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo to claim featherweight gold at UFC 194 in December. The SBG Ireland representative also posted TKO triumphs against Chad Mendes and Dennis Siver last year.

Meanwhile, Holm’s second-round knockout of Rousey at UFC 193 in November captured “Best Upset” honors, beating out Middle Tennessee State’s victory over Michigan State in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament and Roberta Vinci’s triumph against Serena Williams in the U.S. Open. The Jackson-Wink MMA standout’s head kick was also up for “Best Play,” but Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers Hail Mary touchdown pass to Richard Rodgers won that category.

McGregor is set to return to the Octagon at UFC 202 on Aug. 20, when he will rematch Nate Diaz in the evening’s main event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Holm will headline UFC on Fox 20 on July 23 against Valentina Shevchenko at the United Center in Chicago.
