Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight challenger Colby Covington believes that sometime in the future Irish mega star Conor McGregor will return to the welterweight division and “Chaos” will be ready to greet him when he does.

McGregor has won titles in both the featherweight and lightweight divisions and has expressed a desire in the past of winning a title in the heavier welterweight division. A return at welterweight isn’t out of the realms of possibility although first McGregor wants an immediate rematch, his head coach John Kavanagh told Joe Rogan on his podcast on Monday.

McGregor has already fought twice at 170, pounds both times against Nate Diaz. The Irishman lost the first fight against him and looked to struggle against his bigger opponent who took his best shots and kept coming forward. However, their second fight was much closer with McGregor landing some big shots to outpoint Diaz to a majority decision.

Covington, who has had feuds with a number of fighters including Tyron Woodley, Fabricio Werdum and Rafael dos Anjos, spoke recently on BJ Penn Radio about a potential future fight against McGregor. Covington expressed confidence that a matchup between arguably the two most proficient talkers in the game would sell well.

“I’m the money fighter, I’m the new Conor McGregor,” Covington said. “I am the better version of him, I can fight, I can talk, I can go when the fight gets tough. I am not gonna run away from a tough fight like he did against Nate Diaz. Yeah, we’ll welcome him back. Conor has expressed some interest in coming to welterweight for a third belt, create history. So it is definitely something I see down the line. The thing is, he is just playing with Woodley. He is not gonna take that fight because he knows Woodley would just leech off of him, he knows that Woodley’s a little b*tch and he can’t even carry his own weight. Look at him; he could barely do over 100,000 pay-per-view buys, well what good is that gonna do for Conor? That’s not gonna make Conor any money. I almost tripled Woodley’s pay-per-view buys on my first time, on pay-per-view selling the shows.”
