Bantamweight Cody Bollinger has been released by World Series of Fighting.

Bollinger took to social media to announce the news on Wednesday, and Sherdog.com subsequently confirmed the news with a WSOF official.

Bollinger, who fought three times under the WSOF banner, has a tumultuous history when it comes to hitting the required mark of 135 pounds. “The Cali Cowboy” was unceremoniously kicked off “The Ultimate Fighter: 18” for missing weight, then failed to make weight again prior to his bout with Pablo Alfonso at WSOF 11.

The trend didn’t end there, as Bollinger filled in on short notice after Josh Hill withdrew from his bout with Marlon Moraes due to injury. The tilt was scheduled to take place at a catchweight of 140 pounds, but the 23-year-old tipped the scales at a hefty 147, forcing the hand of the promotion and nearly cancelling the main event of WSOF 13 altogether.

Bollinger was last in action on Nov. 22, competing for the Gladiator Challenge promotion in California, where he defeated an 0-4 fighter by the name of Alexander Moses.
