Clay Guida Won’t Press Charges Against Nate Diaz for Altercation at Combate Americas Event

A brawl nearly ensued when Diaz allegedly shoved Guida from behind, sending him into a guardrail and bloodying his lip. Meanwhile, Guida’s training partner, Tyler Diamond, claimed that Diaz slapped him and one of “his groupies rabbit punched me” when he tried to defuse the situation.
Guida and Diaz initially fought at UFC 94 in January 2009, with Guida winning via split decision. It’s not the first time Diaz has had an altercation with a member of the Guida family. After Clay Guida suffered a knockout loss to Brian Ortega in June 2016, Clay, his brother Jason Guida and some other Team Alpha Male members got into it backstage with Diaz at the Forum in Los Angeles.
Diaz is scheduled to return to the Octagon for the first time since August 2016 when he faces Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 in New York on Nov. 3. Guida, meanwhile, last appeared at UFC 225 on June 9, when he suffered a first-round submission defeat against Charles Oliveira.
