Cezar ‘Mutante’ to Face Karl Roberson at UFC 224 in Rio de Janeiro

A middleweight bout pitting Cezar Ferreira against Karl Roberson has been added to the UFC 224 lineup.

Combate was first to report the booking. UFC 224 takes place at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro on May 12 and is expected to included a 185-pound clash between Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida.

Cezar “Mutante” has won four of his last five Octagon appearances, including a split-decision triumph over Nate Marquardt in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night 120 on Nov. 11. The 33-year-old Brazilian is 8-4 during his promotional tenure and 12-6 as a professional overall.

Roberson made his way to the UFC on the strength of a 15-second knockout of Ryan Spann at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 3. In his Octagon debut, he submitted Darren Stewart in the opening stanza at UFC Fight Night 120 to run his record to 6-0.
