Brett Cooper is out of his middleweight clash against Brian Rogers at Bellator 125 after suffering a foot injury.
Rogers will instead face Rafael Carvalho on Sept. 19 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., the promotion announced on Tuesday. Bellator 125 is headlined by a middleweight showdown pitting Melvin Manhoef against Doug Marshall.
Brazilian striker Carvalho was originally scheduled to fight Anthony Ruiz on the show’s undercard. The 28-year-old is currently riding an eight-fight winning streak that includes seven finishes, all by way of knockout.
The Brazilian represents the third opponent for Rogers, who was first slated to meet James Irvin. Rogers last appeared at Bellator 119, where he scored a flying-knee knockout of Arian Miles. That victory halted a two-fight skid for “The Professional Predator,” who had fallen to Mikkel Parlo and Dan Cramer in his previous two outings.
