James Irvin is out of his middleweight clash against Brian Rogers at Bellator 125 after suffering a leg injury.
Rogers will now face Brett Cooper on Sept. 19 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. The promotion announced the change on Friday. Bellator 125 is headlined by a middleweight showdown pitting Melvin Manhoef against Doug Marshall.
Cooper is coming off a submission defeat to Brandon Halsey in the Season 10 middleweight tournament final on July 25. “Fudoshin” is 7-5 under the Bellator banner overall, although he has lost three of his last four with the promotion.
Rogers last appeared at Bellator 119, where he scored a flying knee knockout of Arian Miles 1:29 into the second frame. That victory halted a two-fight skid for “The Professional Predator,” who had fallen to Mikkel Parlo and Dan Cramer in his previous two outings.
