While Aguilar’s opponent has not yet been announced, Bellator officials did reveal that the Spike TV-broadcast main draw will feature the finals of the Season 8 lightweight and featherweight tournaments. The bracket winners will each earn a $100,000 payday and a guaranteed title shot.
Four men currently remain in each tournament, with Alexandre Bezerra, Mike Richman, Marlon Sandro and Magomedrasul Khasbulaev making up the featherweight field. Meanwhile, Saad Awad, Will Brooks, David Rickels and Jason Fischer comprise the lightweight semifinals. The featherweight finalists will be decided on Feb 21 at Bellator 90, and the same will go for the lightweights the following week at Bellator 91.
Aguilar, 30, has won nine of her last 10 fights, with her only loss in that span coming in a controversial split decision defeat to Zoila Frausto Gurgel in Bellator’s Season 3 tournament semifinals. Since that setback, “Jag” has posted five straight wins, most recently taking a unanimous decision from the world-ranked Megumi Fujii last May at Bellator 69.
