Paul Barrow vs. Matt Bessette


Round 1
Bessette lands a leg kick to start the action. Barrow catches a kick and looks for a single-leg before switching to a body lock against the fence. Bessette pushes Barrow against the cage now, and Barrow lands an accidental low blow as the fighters push off the cage. Bessette catches a kick and lands a couple punches. Bessette moves forward and attempts a head kick, Barrow responds with a kick to the body. Bessette with a low kick, then a body kick. Barrow defends against a single leg attempt against the cage. Bessette lands a couple knees in the clinch before pushing his opponent into the fence once again. Much of the round has been contested in close quarters. Barrow finally gets a takedown with less than 20 seconds remaining in the frame and that's how the round ends.

Round 2
Keith Mills

Bessette outpointed Barrow for 15 minutes.
Barrow lands a few uppercuts as the lightweights tie-up. Barrow scores a takedown near the edge of the cage. Bessette lands some knees and follows with a solid combination. Bessette lands another elbow in the clinch. A knee from Bessette hits Barrow below the belt, and he takes a few minutes to recover. They start again, and Barrow is landing solid right hands. Now back in the tie-up, with Bessette controlling the action. He changes levels for a takedown and is denied. Barrow drives hard for a single leg and finally gets it, but Bessette is quickly up. He jumps guard with a guillotine.

Bessette closes his guard while Barrow lands punches to the ribs. Barrow gives a thumbs up and escapes the hold. Now in Bessette's guard, Barrow works some ground-and-pound. Bessette unsuccessfully attempts a triangle as the round ends.

Round 3
Bessette closes the distance immediately and begins landing offense in close. Barrow catches a kick, kicks out Bessette's leg and winds up in top position. Bessette pushes him off and gets up. Bessette continues with the occasional knee to the body as they clinch, also mixing in elbows. Bessette gets a double-leg takedown and moves to his adversary's back. Barrow breaks away, but Bessette quickly cinches a front headlock. Barrow whiffs on a spinning back elbow and right hand. Barrow is bleeding from his nose as he moves forward. Bessette ends the frame landing a body kick and a left hand.

Sam McCoy vs. Brennan Ward


Round 1
McCoy shoots right off the bat, but Ward winds up in top position. Ward transitions to the back but decides he'd rather stand. McCoy is diving desperately for takedowns. Ward pounds away with punches as McCoy turtles on the mat. Ward breaks away and forces another standup. McCoy continues to throw one or two punches before diving for telegraphed takedowns. Ward takes advantage and blasts his foe with a short right hand. McCoy flattens out on the canvas and eats a few more punches on the ground before referee Todd Anderson intervenes. The official time of the stoppage is 2:49 for the winner by knockout, Brennan Ward.

Matt Uhde vs. Mike Mucitelli


Round 1
K. Mills

Mucitelli quickly tapped out Uhde.
Uhde moves forward with punches and quickly gets a takedown.He winds up in Mucitelli's guard and looks to go to work. He leaves his right arm exposed in the process, however, and Mucitelli quickly transitions into an armbar attempt. Uhde has nowhere to go, and Mucitelli elicits the tapout with the hold just 26 seconds into the first stanza.

Murad Machaev vs. Lorawnt-T Nelson


Round 1
Nelson lands a chopping low kick to begin things. Machaev scores a takedown, but Nelson pops back to his feet. Machaev dumps his foe back down to the floor and winds up in Nelson's closed guard. Machaev lands short punches to the body from top position. Nelson remains stacked against the fence. In attempt to get to his feet, Nelson allows Machaev to take his back. Machaev doesn't have room to put his hooks in yet, but he continues to land left hands to Nelson's head. Machaev kicks Nelson's leg out when he attempts to stand. The Russian lands a few knees to the body, then attempts a modified rear-naked choke. Nelson escapes, but Machaev still has his back. Machaev finishes the period by peppering his foe with punches.

Round 2
Machaev throws a right hand and then locks up with Nelson. Nelson briefly has a standing guillotine, but the fighters break away. Machaev counters a low kick with a right hand, which allows him to close the distance and take Nelson down with a single leg. Machaev goes to work with short left hands from half guard. Now Machaev moves to side control.He traps Nelson's right arm with the crucifix, and he pounds away with left hands. Nelson escapes the crucifix, but now Machaev has his back. Machaev is content to pound away with punches. Nelson is up but Machaev quickly dumps him back to the mat. Nelson has yet to mount any significant offense as Machaev dominates positioning.

Round 3
Machaev lands a two-punch combination as Nelson misses on an uppercut. Machaev backs his opponent into the cage and executes another takedown. Now on Nelson's back, the Russian is landing measured punches to his head. Nelson briefly stands, but Machaev has little trouble taking him down again. He continues to methodically punish Nelson with ground-and-pound and positional dominance. Machaev achieves the crucifix position again and he's unloading with left hands on Nelson, who now has cuts under both eyes. One minute to go, and Nelson shows no signs of mounting a rally. Machaev moves to full mount and increases his output. Nelson rolls over, and Machaev forgoes the hooks to continue his punching assault.

Dan Cramer vs. Joe Lamoureux


Round 1
Lamoureux quickly forces a clinch and drives Cramer back. Cramer responds with short knees, but Lamoureux continues with pressure against the fence. Lamoureux attempts to get a takedown, but it's Cramer that executes a hip toss. Now Cramer is landing big knees and punches in a brief but furious display of offense. Lamoureux briefly regains control and pushes his foe against the cage, but it's short-lived. Cramer lands a knee and a punch, then tees off with three straight right hands to the temple of Lamoureux, who has no answer for the barrage and crumples to the floor. The official time of the TKO stoppage is 3:26 of round one for the winner, Dan Cramer.

Andrew Calandrelli vs. Eric Brown


Round 1
One minute has passed and neither fighter has done much during an extended feeling-out process. Brown connects to a side kick. He follows by landing a combination. Calandrelli executes an outside trip and works to free his leg from Brown's half guard. Calandrelli momentarily has full mount, but Brown recovers half guard. However, Calandrelli has latched on an arm-triangle choke. He's still in half guard, but he finally passes to side control. He appears to be too high on the choke and moves back to mount. He steps out of full mount and looks for a north-south choke with about 35 seconds to go. Brown turns out of the move and gets back to his feet.

Round 2
Brown moves forward throwing punches, but the powerful Calandrelli grabs him and takes him down with the outside trip again. Calandrelli lands a few short strikes from half guard before passing to full mount. Calandrelli unloads with more punches to the head and then the body. Calandrelli continues to maintain full mount before transitioning to an armbar. He patiently gets his hips into position and commits to the maneuver, giving Brown no choice but to tapout. The official time of the submission is 3:10.

Jonas Billstein vs. Perry Filkins


Round 1
Filkins takes the center of the cage. He connects with a pair of low kicks and a counter left hand. Billstein changes levels and looks for a takedown. He pushes Filkins against the cage and lands a few knees. Filkins drives Billstein against the cage and then fails on an outside trip. They break away and return to center cage. Filkins does a good job catching Billstein with punches as he comes in. Filkins walks forward with a combination. Billstein eats a solid left hook. Getting the worst of the standup, Billstein initiates a clinch. Filkins winds up in side control in the final seconds of the opening frame to close out a solid five minutes for the American.

Round 2
K. Mills

Filkins took two rounds from Billstein.
Filkins lands a combination, then has a high kick deflected by Billstein. Billstein moving in and out and seems to have increased his pace so far in round two. The German pokes Filkins in the eye; after a short break they resume in the center of the cage. Now it's Billstein who receives an eye poke. It's not especially damaging and the action starts again. Filkins counters as Billstein moves foward, then lands a hard outside leg kick. Billstein landing with more volume now. Filkins shoots for a takedown, but Billstein defends. Billstein pulls away and Filkins lands a combination. Billstein gets a takedown with 15 seconds left and moves to side control as the round ends.

Round 3
Filkins counters a Billstein combination with a right hand. Billstein clinches and pushes his man against the fence. Filkins catches Billstein with an inadvertent knee to the cup and takes a minute to recover. They start again, and Filkins find range for his left hook. Billstein lands a snap kick, which seems to fire up Filkins. Filkins lands a right hand. Billstein shoots for a takedown, bounces his foe against the fence and pulls Filkins on top of him. Now they're back to the feet and they tie up. Billstein has his hands on his hips. Filkins lands some more good right hands, keeping the pressure on. Billstein fails on another takedown and Filkins tees off with punches and elbows from full mount as the round ends.

Marlon Sandro vs. Dustin Neace


Round 1
Sandro lands a big left hook before clinching, and Neace responds with a standing guillotine attempt. They go to the mat with Sandro on top of the "TUF 14" veteran. Neace is hunting for a heel hook as Sandro stands. Sandro remains composed, and he's warned for grabbing the fence. He steps out of the hold and spins to take Neace's back. With one hook in, Sandro slides his arm under his opponent's neck for a rear-naked choke and it looks tight. Neace holds out for as long as he can, but Sandro won't relent as the American is rendered unconscious. The end comes at the 2:05 mark of round one, as Sandro wins via technical submission.

Bellator Season 7 Lightweight Tournament Semifinal
Dave Jansen vs. Ricardo Tirloni


Round 1
Tirloni starts aggressively, landing a jumping knee at the outset. Jansen floors Tirloni with a big punch during the next exchange. Tirloni lands a big left hook. Jansen counters with a solid knee to the body. Tirloni connects with a left hand from the outside. The pace has slowed from the opening minute, but both men continue to attack with a purpose. Jansen is moving in and out, while Tirloni attempts to remain on the outside. Jansen lands a jab, and Tirloni has some swelling under his left eye. A straight right hand from Tirloni hits its mark. Tirloni is landing plenty of plenty of solid right hands. Jansen is bleeding under his left eye. Tirloni lands a left to the body followed by another right hand. Jansen, meanwhile, has had success with leg kicks. Jansen changes levels, takes Tirloni's back and suplexes him to the floor. Tirloni is up, and Jansen briefly slams him down again.

Round 2

Jansen slipped by Tirloni via split decision.
Tirloni comes out firing that right hand again. Jansen is feigning takedown attempts now. They both land big shots in an exchange. Tirloni with a straight left and a low kick. The Brazilian follows that with a solid combination. Tirloni with a low kick, then misses an uppercut. A counter left hand and a left jab connect for Jansen. Tirloni with a right hand and a pair of inside kicks. Jansen catches the second and then pops his foe when he gets back up. Tirloni is controlling the cage in this frame. The Brazilian sprawls on a Jansen takedown attempt and nearly has a choke. They're back to trading on the feet, and Tirloni continues to club Jansen with big right hands.

Round 3
Jansen begins the round throwing punches in volume. Tirloni pops the American with an uppercut in close. Left hook-right hand combo connects for Tirloni. Tirloni continues to hunt for his right hand. He lands an uppercut, but misses the follow-up hook. Jansen looks for a takedown, but Tirloni isn't having it. Tirloni is doing a good job of keeping Jansen at bay with his jab. Both fighters are bleeding now. Jansen remains game, but Tirloni has landed the better strikes in the frame. Jansen recognizes this and shoots, but Tirloni defends again. With 30 seconds left Tirloni tries a single leg takedown. Jansen grabs a guillotine and Tirloni relents. Jansen gets the back and suplexes his opponent near the end of the period. Tirloni returns to his feet as the frame ends.

Rich Clementi vs. Marcin Held


Round 1
Held fires a leg kick. Clementi gets a body lock, and Held rolls for a leg lock. The 20 year old isn't giving up on the hold. He switches to a toe hold, and Clementi attempts to push Held away with his free foot. Both fighters playing the leg lock game while periodically attacking with punches. Clementi briefly rolls to a dominant position and lands a couple solid shots before Held reverses. Held is out, and now Held rolls for a knee bar with a little more than a minute remaining. He cranks the hold, but it's too low. Clementi is out and he tries a guillotine. It's unsuccessful, and Held finishes the round in the Louisianan's guard.

Held painfully tapped out Clementi.
Round 2
Clementi lands a knee and takes Held down. The UFC veteran holds his position in half guard. Clementi gradually works to set up a d'arse choke, but Held avoids it. The Rhode Island crowd is growing restless with the grappling display. Held is rolling for another leg lock. He puts his whole body into the toe hold. Clementi is in obvious pain and is forced to submit. The official end comes at the 3:04 mark of round two.
