Cosmo Alexandre vs. Harry Johnson

Round 1
Alexandre is patient from the outset, kicking as Johnson tries to frame up a takedown. As Johnson pushes for the takedown, Alexandre punches around his body. He hits his knees, and referee Daver Ferguson steps in, calling a low blow. However, it is hard to see if the blow actually landed to the cup. The bout restarts after a brief halt, and Johnson resumes pumping his jab while Alexandre kicks his legs. Johnson shoots and trips Alexandre's plant leg, but the Brazilian pops up, sprawls, then socks Johnson for good measure. Two hard shots for Alexandre land on the feet. John presses Alexandre along the fence and knees him in the thighs, but Alexandre simply stands there, biding his time. When he separates, Alexandre explodes with a head kick, follow up knees and further kicks. Johnson covers up well and avoids a lot of damage, but he's getting beat up on now. With less than 10 seconds to go, Alexandre gets his own takedown, and pounds away on Johnson until the bell.

Round 2
Alexandre attacks again as the round begins, backing Johnson up with punches. Alexandre lands a left, and when Johnson covers up, Alexandre drills him with a left knee to the body. Johnson crumples up, face down, moaning. Referee Dave Ferguson rules it a low blow initially, but looks at the in-house video screens and sees the knee was obviously legal. He tells Johnson to take his feet, but he is unable. Cosmo Alexandre, in farcical fashion, is made the winner by TKO at 39 seconds of the second round.

Brian Albin vs. Jacob Noe

Round 1
Noe is all over Albin quickly, landing combination punches before backing him up onto the fence. Albin's face is smeared with blood due to a cut by his lips, and Noe gets double underhooks, grinding him along the fence. When referee Jason Herzog separates them, Noe rushes him with more long, straight punches and resumes clinching. Noe goes low, pulling Albin's legs out and setting up on top. He punches away before moving to side control. Noe continues to pound away with short elbows along the forehead and jawline of his foe, getting blood flowing all over Albin's face from the cut on his lip.

Between rounds, the ringside physician steps in and advises referee Jason Herzog to stop the bout due to the cut. After the call is made, Albin is furious, begging for one more round, but his cries fall on deaf ears. Jacob Noe is the winner via doctor stoppage at the end of the first round.

Amaechi Oselukwue vs. Kelvin Tiller

Round 1
Tiller gets popped by a counter hook from Oselukwue, but quickly regains his composure. Tiller advances on his foe while Oselukwue shuffles on the outside, kicking to the legs and circling around. Inside low kick from Tiller drops Oselukwue to his knees, but “The Infamous A.O.” pops up and rushes his opponent with punches. Tiller eats a shot, but quickly puts Oselukwue on the mat. Tiller gets to side control and Oselukwue exposes his back trying to scramble. Tiller comes off Oselukwue’s back for a moment, but ragdolls him to the mat and gets his back with one hook once again. Oselukwue explodes and rolls, but “The Mama’s Boy” stays with him and holds a rear waistlock. Tiller controls him easily, kneeing him to the hamstrings, punching him and keeping him locked on the floor until the bell.

Round 2
Body kick-right cross for Tiller lands clean. Oselukwue is still dancing around on the outside, but when he rushes with punches now, Tiller ducks out of the way. When he kicks, Tiller responds with harder kicks. Oselukwue lunges in with a wild punch and Tiller elevates him, slamming him onto the mat. Oselukwue is starting to cling to Tiller’s leg, and in turn, eats copious right elbows. Right hands and hammerfists for Tiller. He’s ramping it up on a trapped, desperate and tired Oselukwue. Referee Dave Ferguson is telling Oselukwue to defend himself, resulting in a feeble forward roll. He ends up belly down with Tiller landing more right hands. When Oselukwue turns away again, Tiller takes his back again but Oselukwue explodes out. Tiller retains top, however, and continues to punish Oselukwue.

The Kansas City, Kan., native lands more right hands until Ferguson intervenes at 4:21 of the second round.

Joe Williamsvs. Andy Uhrich

Round 1
Uhrich is aggressive from the outside, putting his jab on Williams and kicking him to the body. The unbeaten Williams changes levels and pursues a double-leg, but Uhrich nicely gets back to his feet and resumes striking. Williams lands a hard right hand, and drives Uhrich to the mat, but Uhrich again sits up and gets back to his feet. Another Williams takedown comes and he tries to move to the back of Uhrich, but the Bartlett, Tenn., fighter takes his time and works back to his feet. Williams eats a leg kick from Uhrich, but again, Williams punches his way in, changes levels, and gets a momentary takedown before Uhrich pops back up, eating a few punches. With 40 seconds to go, Williams completes a single-leg along the fence and sits in Uhrich’s guard, but Uhrich kicks him away and gets to his feet one more time. Left cross-spinning back fist misses for Uhrich.

Round 2
Williams loads up on a lead uppercut that soars wide. Uhrich dings him with a left hook-right hook, but Williams responds with another takedown. Surprise, surprise: before the undefeated welterweight can do much of anything, Uhrich is back on his feet. Both men pawing with jabs, and Uhrich landing leg kicks here and there. Hard right for Williams finds its target. Uhrich lands a right, then stuffs another shot from Williams. Williams ducks low in desperate pursuit of a leg, and Uhrich lands an outside leg kick. Both men hit nothing but air before the bell.

Round 3
Williams opens the third frame with a double-leg, but Uhrich pushes away, scooting to the fence and looking to stand up again. Williams stays heavy on top, not letting Uhrich kick him away, but on Uhrich’s second attempt, he gets to his feet. Williams does, however, ring him up with two hand right crosses, the best of the fight so far. On the feet, Uhrich closes in and finds himself defending another takedown. The Tennessean jumps a guillotine, and winds up on his back once more with Williams looming above. After Uhrich’s upkicks don’t permit Williams to set up on top, the wrestler finally lets his prey up. On the feet, Uhrich connects with a punch almost instantly, but Williams gets low, takes him down, and ducks to a rear waistlock.

Uhrich gets up again, but Williams is immediately in on a crucifix. Uhrich sprawls out and locks up a crucifix with his legs on Williams arm. He tries to elbow away on Williams’ temple before switching to a kimura for a moment. Uhrich looks for more elbows, and Williams finally completes his takedown with 20 seconds to go. Both men smack each other around until the final bell.

Official result: Judge Mike King has it 30-27 while Jason Herzog and Dave Ferguson see it 29-28 for the winner by unanimous decision, Andy Uhrich.

Mike Wessel vs. Ryan Martinez

Round 1
Wild right hands whip out for both men as Martinez bulls Wessel into the fence. Wessel manages to free himself and they step back to the center of the cage, where they clunk each other with heavy rights. Wessel rushes Martinez now and puts his back into the fence. They separate, and again crack each other with heavy rights. Body kick by Wessel hits Martinez in the gut. Three punches for Martinez glance as Wessel pursues him. Hard body kick from the Arkansas native. They wind up clinched along the fence again, and Martinez gets a brief moment with hip control on the ground, but Wessel gets back to his feet. Wessel kicks low, but Martinez checks in and counters with a right cross, and Wessel hits the mat. The Coloradan moves right into side control on Wessel and looks for a keylock briefly. Short punches and elbows land for Martinez until the bell.

Round 2
Martinez aggressive in the second period, winging leather immediately and running Wessel back into the fence for a moment. Martinez doubles his right hook and lands, gaining double underhooks in the process. He finishes a sloppy takedown into half guard, then moves to side control again. Wessel looks tired beneath him. Martinez goes for a crucifix, but Wessel squirms out and gets back to his feet. Inside kick by Wessel smacks Martinez’s leg. Right jab lands for Martinez as the pace slows in the heavyweight tilt. “The Juggernaut” continues to kick, eventually going up high, but Martinez blocks it. Martinez tries to respond with a kick of his own, but Wessel catches his leg and slams him to the mat. Martinez gets to his knees but eats some heavy rights from the UFC veteran. Martinez uses a whizzer to stand up with just under two minutes to go in the round. Left cross lands for the southpaw Martinez, who is breathing out of his mouth noticeably. Right hook for Wessel puts Martinez’s head back, but Martinez trips him to the mat when he clinches. With just over 10 seconds in the round, Wessel overhooks Martinez and waits the round out.

Round 3
Wessel continues to walk down the Greeley, Colo., native, landing sporadic leg kicks on his slowing opponent. Martinez keeps looking for counterpunches on the charging Wessel, but neither man can land their leather clean. Hard outside low kick by Martinez. Lead right hook for Martinez thuds Wessel’s gloves, but he slips and can’t follow up. Martinez kicks and Wessel tries to catch it and follow with a right. He can’t connect square but he runs Martinez into the cage. Knees land inside for Wessel who moves to the collar tie. Right hook to the body by Wessel knocks Martinez off balance slightly, and two right hands that follow rock him on his heels. Martinez is forced to clinch as Wessel starts to put his stamp on the round more clearly.

A left cross for Martinez lands, and he shucks Wessel’s ensuing takedown off. They clinch up, both men throwing hard punches. Wessel knees to the body, and Martinez pushes him into the cage until the fight ends.

Official result: Judge Dave Ferguson sees it 29-28 for Mike Wessel, while Mike King has it 30-27 for Ryan Martinez. Deciding judge Jason Herzog has it 29-28 for the winner by split decision, Mike Wessel.

Mike Mucitelli vs. Matt Van Buren

Round 1
Mucitelli puts his right hand in van Buren’s face immediately and knocks him down, but van Buren smartly hits a switch on his eager foe and ends up on top, chipping away in full guard. Van Buren stands in guard and punches down while Mucitelli upkicks. Van Buren dives in with a hard right, but he stands back up and the process repeats. As van Buren gets lazy, Mucitelli grabs his Achilles and trips him, diving into top position and nearly getting his back standing. Mucitelli pushes for a takedown, but van Buren hooks his leg, rolls through and finishes on top. However, because of hooking the leg, van Buren is exposed to the New York’s triangle attempt. “Crazy” locks it up in a hurry, pinches his knees and completes the submission by forcing van Buren to tap at 3:01 of the first round.

Bellator Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament Final
Marcos Galvao vs. Luis Alberto Nogueira

Round 1
Galvao throws a left hook, a powerful low kick, then gets a quick takedown on his fellow Brazilian. “Betao” snakes up the fence quickly. The pair trade position with over-unders, alternating with knees to one another’s bodies. They separate, and each man cracks the other with a left hook. Nogueira swims to the clinch and lands two knees, but Galvao gets him low, prompting referee Jason Herzog to halt the action for a moment. Body kick for Galvao lands and Nogueira nearly rips him with a counter hook. Low kick by Galvao and then a knee on an advancing Nogueira. The Renovacao fighter trying to initiate a firefight, winging big punches, but he can’t get through Galvao’s reach. Nogueira slams the Nova Uniao fighter to the ground from the bodylock, but Galvao is back to his feet in a heartbeat. Right cross-left hook clips for Nogueira, but he walks right into three hard punches and a knee from Galvao. Nogueira fires back, but Galvao’s shots at the end were perhaps the cleanest of the round.

Round 2
The winging resumes, and Nogueira lands a great right hook, but Galvao is undeterred. Heavy leather being exchanged on the inside in this scrap. Right cross to the body lands for “Betao,” but Galvao dings him with two knees as he swoops low.

Galvao landing with outside low kicks and glancing with wild overhands. Nogueira jabs, then crunches into Galvao’s lead leg with a great outside low kick. Each time Nogueira swipes with punches, Galvao steps inside and tags him with knees. Both men winging punches and a massive right hook from Galvao has Nogueira reeling. “Loro” doesn’t realize it at first, but when he does, he attacks with more savage punches. Nogueira is on rollerskates and Galvao bodylocks him, tripping right into mount. From there, Galvao is vicious with punches and elbows on his barely-conscious countryman. He hammers away with shots to the ears and 12-to-6 elbows -- legal in the state of Mississippi -- until Jason Herzog halts the action at 4:20 of the second round. Galvao is the winner of Bellator's Season 6 bantamweight tournament.

Bellator 2012 Summer Series Light Heavyweight Tournament Final
Travis Wiuff vs. Attila Vegh

Round 1
Wiuff pressures Vegh quickly, getting in his face and pawing. Wiuff steps into the pocket finally and Vegh turns southpaw. “Diesel” immediately eats a left uppercut-right overhand that drops him to the knees. Vegh is all over him with right hands that leave him unconscious on his knees. Referee Jazon Herzog immediately dives in to save the compromised Wiuff. The end of the tournament finale comes at just 25 seconds of the very first round. Attila Vegh is the Bellator 2012 Summer Series light heavyweight tournament champion.
