Nemkov (15-2, 1 NC) is coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over Corey Anderson in their rematch. The light heavyweight champion weighed in at 203.8 pounds and hasn't suffered a defeat since 2016, as he is undefeated within Bellator. He'll take on a veteran in Romero (15-6), who has won back-to-back fights in Bellator by knockout. The 46-year-old will look to finally claim championship gold, and weighed 205 pounds on the dot.
As for the co-main, current featherweight champ Freire (35-5) came in at 134.2 pounds. "Pitbull" is on a three-fight win streak, having defeated A.J. McKee, Adam Borics, and Kleber Koike Erbst all by decision. Pettis (22-5) will look to retain his belt, which he most recently defended against Kyoji Horiguchi in 2021, where won via a "Knockout of the Year"-winning spinning backfist. The bantamweight champion came in at 134 pounds on the dot.
Bellator 297 will air live on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Friday. Prelims begin at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
