Bellator 199 Salaries: Ryan Bader, ‘King Mo,’ Cheick Kongo All Earn $150K Paychecks



Ryan Bader, Muhammed Lawal and Cheick Kongo each pocketed $150,000 for their work at Bellator 199 this past Saturday night.

The California State Athletic Commission released salary figures from the event to MMAFighting.com on Wednesday. Bader knocked out “King Mo” in 15 seconds in the evening’s main event at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., to advance to the semifinals of the Bellator heavyweight grand prix. Bader will square off against Matt Mitrione at a date to be determined.

Meanwhile, Kongo earned six figures for a relatively short night as well, knocked out Javy Ayala ($30,000) 2:29 into the opening stanza of their featured heavyweight tilt. Other notable earners from Bellator 199 include Jon Fitch, who garnered $120,000 for a dominant decision win over British striker Paul Daley ($30,000) at welterweight and prospect Aaron Pico, who took home $70,000 for a first-round stoppage of Lee Morrison ($12,000) at 145 pounds.
