Bellator 174 Broadcast on Spike Draws 686,000 Viewer Average in Friday Overnight Ratings

Bellator 174's ratings don't appear to be spectacular, but they are an improvement over Bellator 173.

According to cable television ratings released on Monday by Nielsen, Spike's March 3 broadcast of Bellator 174 drew an average audience of 686,000, as well as a 0.20 share in the 18-49 adults demographic in Friday's preliminary overnight ratings. The broadcast aired for 133 minutes.

Bellator 174, which took place at the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla., was headlined by a bout for the inaugural Bellator women's featherweight championship, where Julia Budd stopped Marloes Coenen in the fourth round to become champion. The 35-year-old Coenen retired following the bout.

The Feb. 24 broadcast of Bellator 173, headlined by Liam McGeary's TKO win over Brett McDermott in Belfast, drew 557,000 in its overnight rating before being bumped up to 618,000 in its DVR +3 rating.

Bellator 172 on Feb. 18 drew an overnight rating of 807,000 and was upgraded to 873,000 average viewers after DVR +3 ratings were released, while Bellator 171 on Jan. 27 notched 720,000 in overnights and a 795,000 average after DVR +3 numbers.
