Bellator 150 Gets David Rickels vs. Bobby Cooper Lightweight Tilt

The Bellator 150 card continues to grow, as the California-based promotion announced Wednesday afternoon the addition of a lightweight skirmish between fan favorite David Rickels and Bobby Cooper.

Rickels last competed at Bellator 145 in November, when he suffered a second-round TKO loss at the hands of Michael Chandler. “The Caveman” hasn’t won a duel in over a year, dating back to when he edged Davi Ramos via unanimous decision in October 2014 at Bellator 130. A follow-up fight against former UFC veteran John Alessio wound up a “no contest” when the Kansas fighter accidentally kneed Alessio in the head while he was down, and the Canadian was unable to continue.

Cooper is coming off a split decision win over Pablo Villaseca last June at Bellator 139. The Missourian is 3-0 inside the Bellator cage and has won six of his last eight battles.

Headlined by the ballyhooed rematch between bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao and former titlist Eduardo Dantas, Bellator 150 will take place at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kan., on Feb. 26 and will be televised live on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. The preliminary portion of the card will be streamed live on Bellator.com.

Heavyweight Cheick Kongo will tango with unbeaten contender Augusto Sakai on the main card as well. More details regarding the remainder of the Bellator 150 main card as well as the full preliminary portion of the marquee will be announced soon.
