A number of the main players from Bellator 142 “Dynamite” could be facing extensive layoffs.
The California State Athletic Commission released of medical suspensions from the event to MMAJunkie.com on Tuesday. Some of the notables facing six months on the sidelines include Liam McGeary, Tito Ortiz, Muhammed Lawal, Emanuel Newton and Josh Thomson.

The card also featured a four-man light heavyweight tournament, which Phil Davis won to earn an eventual shot at McGeary’s title. “Mr. Wonderful” emerged with only a mandatory seven-day suspensions, but Lawal, who was unable to continue after defeating Linton Vassell due to a rib injury a semifinal bout, could be out for six months due to a possible right rib fracture. Newton must also be cleared for a possible rib cage fracture following his loss to Davis.

Francis Carmont: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for knockout requiring MRI of brain
Josh Thomson: suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact unless cleared by doctor for right hip pain requiring MRI/X-ray
Mike Bronzoulis: suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact for loss of consciousness during submission
Emanuel Newton: suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact unless cleared by doctor for possible fracture in right rib cage
Muhammed Lawal: suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact unless cleared by doctor for possible right rib fracture requiring X-ray
David Blanco: suspended 180 days with 180 days no contact unless cleared by doctor for possible right hand fracture requiring X-ray; suspended 60 days with 60 days unless cleared by doctor for left eyelid laceration
