Amran Aliyev vs. Kevin Roddy

Round 1

Aliyev fires off a high kick that Roddy blocks. Roddy then rushes forward throwing punches. Roddy ducks under an Aliyev punch, grabs the clinch and lands a couple knees before the featherweights separate. Roddy lands on outside leg kick. Aliyev with a hard right hand over the top. Aliyev counters Roddy's forward movement with an uppercut to the body, which backs the American up momentarily. Aliyev drops Roddy with a head kick, despite Roddy having his hand up to block it. Roddy returns to his feet and Aliyev is stalking him. Aliyev connects with a clean right hand. Roddy, who is bleeding under his right eye, has slowed his forward pressure somewhat in the latter half of the frame. Roddy claims he was poked in the eye, but Keith Petersen calls it a punch and the action continues. Aliyev refuses to dive into his opponent's guard and they resume trading on the feet.

Roddy outpointed Aliyev to start the card.
Aliyev begins the period with an inside leg kick. Roddy moves forward and whiffs on a head kick. Roddy misses on a one-two combo but connects with a leg kick. Aliyev lands an uppercut. Aliyev hits a kick to the body, then a right hand. Roddy with another one-two followed by a leg kick. His shots are not landing as cleanly as Aliyev's, however. Aliyev briefly backs up Roddy with a hard right hand over the top. Roddy looks for a takedown, but Aliyev counters with a guillotine. Roddy pops his head free and now Aliyev is in full guard. The time on the ground is minimal and the two fighters return to their feet.

Roddy attacks with a knee and uppercuts in the clinch. Now Aliyev presses his man against the fence with a body lock, and Roddy fails on a trip attempt. The two men continue to jostle for position as the round winds down, with Aliyev scoring on a trip with less than 20 seconds to go. Roddy is right back up, and the round ends with both men standing once again.

Round 3

Aliyev begins the round by countering a Roddy right with a hard right hand of his own. Aliyev counters a Roddy uppercut with a left hook. Roddy continues to rush forward with punching combinations, hands held relatively low, while Aliyev is largely content to counter. Roddy lands a combination, moves into the clinch and then is unable to throw his opponebnt to the canvas. Roddy briefly grabs the Thai plum and lands a knee. Aliyev sprawls on a takedown, and Roddy pushes his man against the fence. Aliyev is now bleeding from his nose as Roddy takes him down against the fence. Roddy is landing short elbows and punches in guard while Aliyev attempts to hunt for a submission. Roddy moves out of danger and fires off a burst of ground-and-pound. Roddy postures up and increases the intensity of his assault with about 30 seconds remaining. Roddy appears to have Aliyev hurt with a final flurry of standing-to-ground strikes, but he elects to stand and walk away as the final seconds tick away.

Mike Bannon vs. Sidney Outlaw

Round 1

The lighweights rush to meet each other in the center of the cage. After a brief exchange, Outlaw lands a takedown and goes to work in Bannon's full guard. Bannon is gradually working his legs up, but Outlaw takes his foe's back in a scramble. Bannon returns the favor, then returns to his feet and pulls guard for a flying triangle. Outlaw frees himself and elects to dive right back into Bannon's guard. Bannon is working for an omoplata, looking to isolate Outlaw's right arm. Outlaw once again defends and is now in half guard. Outlaw is landing some short punches. Meanwhile, Bannon's hand wrap has come loose and is dangling from his glove. Outlaw continues to maintain top control with physical pressure and good scrambling ability. Outlaw attempts to creat space to land strikes from Bannon's closed guard. Referee Keith Peterson calls time to cut the loose tape from Bannon's glove. They resume with Outlaw in his opponent's guard, and that's how the round ends.

Outlaw beat Bannon down for 15 minutes.
Bannon hurts Outlaw with a punch and Outlaw responds by changing levels for a takedown. Bannon grabs the cage to aid his defense and is warned by the referee. Outlaw drops down and gets Bannon down. He quickly takes the back but overcommits and falls over the top. Bannon capitalizes by taking Outlaw's back, but he is also too high, and Outlaw reverses and moves into top position. Bannon turns but Outlaw is able to take his back. He gets both hooks in breifly, but Bannon shakes him off. Outlaw is still on Bannon's back. Bannon returns to his feet for a moment but Outlaw drives him right back to the mat.

With 90 seconds to go, Outlaw is on top in Bannon's guard. Now Bannon hunts for an oma plata, but Outlaw is doing a good job of staying out of serious danger. Outlaw is struggling to find punching range, but continues to maintain position as the period ends.

Caslow tapped out Haas.
Caslow lands a punching combination followed by a high kick. Caslow connects with a right hand. Caslow is the aggressor so far, but Haas is able to take him down. Caslow fishes for a guillotine choke. He rolls Haas over but is in half guard. Haas frees himself and Caslow dives back into half guard. Caslow transitions to the back and then tries to maneuver for a Peruvian neck tie. That fails, but Caslow switches gears and jumps guard for a guillotine. This time it's tight and Haas no choice but to tap out.

Joe Pingitore vs. Darrion Caldwell

Caldwell caught Pingitore and put him away.
Pingitore misses on a high kick to start the action. Caldwell begins cautiously, feeling his opponent out from the outside before exploding for a takedown and dumping his foe to the mat. Caldwell moves to half guard and hunts for a kimura. A scramble ensues and Caldwell transitions to Pingitore's back. Caldwell flattens his opponent out and sinks in the rear-naked choke. It's deep. Pingitore rolls over but has no choice but to tap.

Tim Woods vs. Eugene Fadiora

Round 1

Fadiora lands a jab, backs up and then charges into a body lock. Fadiora looks for an outside trip, but it's well defended by Woods. Woods lands a knee with his back to the cage. Fadiora has a hold of a single leg, but he is unable to pull his foe down. Woods responds with some hard knees. Dan Miragliotta has seen enough and orders a restart. Fadiora connects with a jab and then a right hand. Woods lands an outside leg kick. The two middleweights trade leg kicks. Fadiora is utilizing a cautious approach, landing single punchs at a time then moving away. Woods best offense remains leg kicks, and Fadiora isn't checking them. Woods moves forward with a left hand followed by a knee. Fadiora secures a body lock and presses Woods into the fence again. He fails on a trip and instead Woods turns and gets the takedown. Woods in half guard now, with Fadiora holding tight attempting to ride out the round. Woods ends the frame with a few short right hands on the mat.

Woods upset Fadiora.
Woods opens up with a leg kick that Fadiora attempts to counter. Fadiora changes levels for a single-leg takedown against the cage. Fadiora uses an ankle pick to get the takedown, but Woods immediately gets up. Fadiora clings to his opponent, but Woods has a body lock. Fadiora has a hold of Woods' leg once again but is unable to get the takedown. They separate and Woods cracks the Brit with a leg kick. Woods checks a Fadiora leg kick. For the most part, Fadiora is waiting on his opponent, throwing the occasional jab while Woods lands leg kicks. Fadiora with a one-two then moves away.

Woods continues to attack with leg kicks, but Fadiora is doing the same, attacking both the inside and outside of Woods' legs. Woods lands a left hand. Woods goes to the body with a punch and follows with an outside leg kick. Fadiora is starting to show the effects of absorbing so many leg kicks. With about 35 secons to go, Fadiora secures a body lock. Fadiora tries for a takedown in the round's waning moments and instead pulls Woods on top of him. The round ends with Woods on top.

Round 3

Woods begins the round with more leg kicks. The muay Thai specialist misses on a head kick. Fadiora checks a leg kick and Woods lands a switch kick to the other leg. Fadiora catches a Woods kick, but he can't get his man down. Woods' size is giving Fadiora problems when they are tied up against the fence. Miragliotta orders a restart after a period of inactivity against the fence. Woods goes back to the leg kicks, which have allowed him to control distance for much of the bout. Fadiora looks hesitant to press the action as Woods circles on the outside of the cage. Woods follows up an Ali shuffle with yet another leg kick. Woods attempts to go high with a kick but Fadiora blocks it. Woods seems content to dance on the outside, but Fadiora is doing nothing to force the issue. That draws boos form the crowd. Fadiora drives Woods against the fence with 10 seconds remaining but is unable to mount a final assault.

Round 1

Martinez lands a one-two combination, prompting Contaldi to shoot for a takedown. Martinez defends the takedown and stays busy with short punches and elbows in the process. Martinez transitions to his foe's back, but he only has one hook in. Contaldi attempts to stack Martinez against the fence. Contaldi lands some knees as Martinez continues to hang on to the submission. Not a lot of action here other than Contaldi's occasional knees to the legs. Contaldi escapes and dives into Martinez's guard. Martinez works his way up, but Contaldi remains dogged in his pursuit of the takedown and dumps his adversary to the mat. Martinez is up again, but Contaldi remains stuck to him against the fence. Martinez responds with knees to the body. Referee Oliver orders a break and they move to the center of the cage. Martinez hurts Contaldi with a right hand and then takes Contaldi down. Martinez is unable to get his arm under Contaldi's chin for a choke as the round ends.

Martinez took it to Contaldi.
Martinez swings wildly to start, then connects with a couple of kicks to the legs. Martinez launches a jumping knee to the body. Martinez moves to Contaldi's back and hammers away with punches and elbows to the side of the head. Martinez continues to land short elbows with Contaldi turtled up on the canvas. The strikes, while persistent, are not especially hard. Martinez switches to hammerfists. Contaldi doesn't appear to be making much of an effort to escape, but Martinez can't put together enough offense to make the ref think about a stoppage just yet.

Martinez working his way to Contaldi's back, and he's looking for the rear-naked choke. He only has one hand in. Contaldi flattens himself out and keeps his chin on the mat. Martinez lets the hold go with about 15 seconds left. Martinez resumes peppering his man with short punches as the round concludes.

Round 3

Martinez lands a left uppercut. He's throwing heavy punches to start. Meanwhile, a fatigued Contaldi is largely on the defensive. Martinez follows a left hand with a leg kick. Martinez landing in combination now. Martinez takes a deep breath after throwing another combination. A spinning back fist from Martinez misses its mark. Martinez lands a low kick, then has a high kick blocked by Contaldi. Contaldi tries for a single-leg and eats a left hand for his troubles. Martinez landing in more volume. An accidental eye poke from Martinez results in a brief delay. They resume trading, with Martinez continuing to get the better of the exchanges. Both fighters pick up the tempo and Martinez drops Contaldi with a left hook. He follows Contaldi to the ground but is unable to finish.

Round 1

Rivera looks to be the considerably bigger fighter in this 172-pound catch-weight matchup. They clinch against the cage, and Rivera trips Adkins to the floor. Rivera passes to side control. Rivera takes the back and drags his foe back down but Adkins winds up on top. Rivera closes his guard, and Adkins pulls out. Rivera rapidly closes the distance and lands some knees in the clinch. Rivera trips his opponent to the canvas again and lands in half guard. He wastes little time passing to side control. Adkins turns in attempt to get to his feet. Rivera takes the opportunity to move to Adkins' back. Rivera tries to power Adkins down again but fails. They remain locked up with less than a minute remaining. Adkins is able to land a couple right hands. Rivera responds with an outside trip but Adkins counters it and lands in side control. Adkins lands some elbows to the body as time runs out.

Rivera bested Adkins after three rounds.
Rivera throws a body kick then quickly rushes forward. Adkins gets an underhook and pushes Rivera against the fence. Rivera tries to execute a trip but Adkins defends well. Rivera appears to have hurt his shoulder in the exchange. They tie up again, Rivera gets a body lock and trips Adkins down. Adkins pops up immediately, however. Rivera holds on but can't get the outside trip again. Rivera maintains the body lock and powers Adkins down. Now Rivera is in full mount. Adkins is walking up the fence and attempts to come out the back door.

Rivera hunts for an armbar, but Adkins stacks him near the fence. Adkins misses with a big right hand and winds up in Rivera's closed guard. Rivera tries to walk his guard up, then secures a body triangle from his back. Adkins, meanwhile, is only able to land short punches from top position.

Rivera whiffs on a high kick and slips to the canvas. He returns to his feet, smiles and the two fighters touch gloves. Rivera throws a big left hand, then drops for a takedown. Adkins just misses on a flying knee. Dan Miragliotta orders a quick restart as they grapple against the fence. Rivera is the aggressor, and he forces another tie-up, but it's Adkins who initially turns his foe against the fence. They break away again. Rivera swings wildly and moves in for the body lockn. Rivera with a knee and Adkins responds with a barrage of punches in close quarters. Rivera holds on to the body lock and turns Adkins into the fence again. He looks for the outside trip but can't get it. Rivera lands a couple knees from the Thai plum, then fails on a takedown. Rivera goes back to the plum and lands more knees. Finally Rivera is able to trip Adkins to the floor with less than 15 seconds left. The frame ends as Adkins attempts to escape to his feet.

McGeary lit up Mucitelli quickly.
McGeary moves forward, throwing a pair of jabs. Mucitelli ducks under and lands a takedown. McGeary quickly returns to his feet. McGeary catches Mucitelli coming forward with a perfectly placed counterleft hook on the chin. McGeary walks away as Mucitelli crumples awkwardly to the floor. No follow-up is needed, as Mucitelli is out. Referee Dan Miragliotti quickly steps in to call a halt to the light heavyweight tournament bout.

Bantamweight Feature Fight:
Marcos Galvao vs. Thomas Vasquez

Round 1

Galvao takes the center of the cage, with Vasquez circling on the outside. Vasquez lands a hard outside leg kick. Galvao throws a left hand and then gets a body lock. The Brazilian slams his foe to the canvas and goes to work from top position. Galvao has a front headlock as Vasquez stands. The bantamweights separate and Vasquez fires off a couple left hands that Galvao eats. "Loro" is methodicially stalking his foe. He eventually closes the distance and throws Vasquez to the canvas. They stand and Vasquez fends off another takedown attempt. Vasqeuz is using a lot of movement and is switching stances on the feet. Vaszquez presses forward, Galvao grabs a Thai plum and Vasquez pulls guard. Now Galvao lands ground and pound through Vasquez's guard. Vasquez wraps Galvao up with his legs and lands a few elbows to the ribs as time expires.

Galvao was on another level.
Vasquez starts off with a leg kick. He moves forward with a combination but nothing lands. Vasquez counters a Galvao offering with a left. Vasqeuz with another sharp, quick left. Galvao changes levels, picks Vasquez up and slams him down. The Brazilian passes to half guard and applies heavy pressure from above. Vasquez is doing a good job of maintaining his guard, and he eventually works his way back up. Galvao fails on an outside trip. Vasquez is denied on a single leg. Galvao goes for the takedown again and gets it.

Galvao is controlling positioning while landing short punches to the head and body. Galvao isn't landing big shots, but he is the stronger man. Vasquez stands, but Galvao lands a pair of knees to the head when his opponent lifts his hand off the canvas.

Round 3

Galvao with a left jab. Instead of circling, Vasquez is attempting to take the center of the cage. He's having some success with his jab, but he isn't really hurting Galvao. Galvao grabs a body lock and gets an outside trip takedown. He takes Vasquez's back secures a body triangle. Galvao pursues a rear-naked choke/neck crank, but Vasquez survives. Galvao attempts to soften his foe up with strikes so he can slide his arm back under the chin. Vasquez is cut on the bridge of his nose. Galvao continues to search for the choke, but Vasquez turns his head. Vasquez has done a good job avoiding the rear-naked choke, but he has still spent the majority of the round with Galvao on his back. The Brazilian now has both hooks in, but he can't quite lock in the submission. With 30 seconds left, Vasquez turns away and stands up. He dives into Galvao's guard in the final seconds as Galvao launches elbows from his back.

Bellator Welterweight Tournament Semifinals:
Andrey Koreshkov vs. Justin Baesman

Koreshkov is gaining momentum.
The welterweights trade leg kicks at the outset. Koreshkov goes to the body then the legs with a pair of kicks. The Russian is loading up on his strikes and already has Baesman moving backward. Koreshkov dodges a left and sticks a jab. Koreshkov counters a Baesman offering with a left hook. Koreshkov just misses on a spinning back kick, but he comes right back with a brutal uppercut to the body that has Baesman reeling. Koreshkov flurries with punches while shrugging off Baesman's attempts to clinch. "Spartan" then launches a flying knee that connects with Baesman's chin and drops his opponent on the spot.

Referee Dan Miragliotta intervenes before Koreshkov can do any more damage.

Bellator Interim Bantamweight Title Fight:
Joe Warren vs. Rafael Silva

Round 1

Warren quickly closes the distance, but it's Silva who grabs a body lock. Warren throws a few short punches but Silva slams the Greco-Roman specialist to the mat. Silva has Warren's back with both hooks in, but the American doggedly returns to his feet. Silva turns and attempts to trip Warren down again. The former featherweight king responds with a knee to the body, then a left hand. Warren locks up a guillotine briefly before moving into Silva's guard. Warren lands a couple right hands to Silva's rib cage. Warren can't quite turn the corner on Silva to take his back, and they separate. Warren misses a jump knee. Silva rocks Warren with an uppercut and moves to finish. Warren eats a couple more right hands but keeps his wits about him enough to end the barrage with a takedown. Warren postures up and lands a right hand. Silva attempts to limit his foe's offense with a tight closed guard as the period draws to a close. The frame ends with Warren on top.

Round 2

Silva catches Warren on a jump knee. The Brazilian dumps him to the mat and Warren pops right back up. Warren has a front headlock but is put on his back while attempting to transition to his opponent's back. Warren gets up briefly but Silva takes him right back down. Warren is up again and they're back in the center of the cage. Warren moves forward with a right hand but has a takedown stuffed. Silva ends up on Warren's back with less than 30 seconds remaining. Warren spends the last 10 seconds of the frame unsuccessfully trying for a single leg.

Warren sticks Silva with a jab and then rocks his man with a right. Warren misses on a head kick, and Silva lands a right hand of his own. Silva snaps Warren's head back with a right, but Warren responds by driving his foe to the mat. Warren now landing moderate ground-and-pound inside of Silva's gaurd. Warren is grinding on Silva, pressing his forearm on his face and dropping short elbows. Warren stays busy with a few left hands to Silva's head. The Brazilian works his way into an armbar, but Warren pulls his limb out of danger and goes back into Silva's guard.

Warren continues to dictate the action. From half guard "The Baddest Man on the Planet" lands some punishing elbows to the ribs. The round ends with Warren continuing to grind away from top position.

Round 4

Warren has significant swelling and a cut over his left eyelid as the round begins. Warren quickly secures a single-leg takedown. Silva shoves him away and they're standing again. Silva shoots for a takedown. He lands a couple left hands while trying to control Warren's ankle. Warren changes levels and Silva defends the shot at first, but eventually the American slams his man down. Warren is working his way to Silva's back, landing short punches to the head and body in the process. Warren has the back but only one hook. He transitions to full mount, but Silva explodes into a rear-waist lock. Warren gets another takedown near the fence. Silva looks for a switch but Warren scrambles away. Now Silva is hanging on to a leg, hoping to get Warren down against the cage. Warren defends and momentarily picks up Silva into what looks like a piledriver position. Warren sets Silva down and contiues to stuff the takedown. With less than 10 seconds to go Warren spins to Silva's back and ends the frame there.

Round 5

The two bantamweights touch gloves to start the frame. Warren connects with a hard right hand. Warren changes levels and jumps on Silva's back. Warren remains attached to Silva's back as the Brazilian tries to shake him off. Warren is holding the position, but then lands a knee to Silva's face while the Brazilian has both hands on the mat. Referee Gasper Oliver calls time and issues a warning to Warren. Silva tells Oliver he doesn't need to be examined by a doctor, and the fight resumes. Warren apologizes and quickly goes back on the attack. The former Fight Master coach throws a right hand before changing levels for a takedown. Warren slams Silva to the mat from the rear-waist lock positon. Now Warren is in Silva's half guard with less than two minutes remaining in the bout. Warren remains steady with his pressure from above. He picks up the intensity of his ground-and-pound as the contest winds down, landing punches and short elbows. Silva, meanwhile, is uanable to offer much in the way of resistance from his back as the bell sounds.
