Johnny Buck vs. Adam McDonough

Round 1

Buck presses out on McDonough from the center and gets pushed back by a spinning kick to the midsection. An uppercut stings Buck, and McDonough follows up with a pair of knees before backing away. Buck hits a double-leg in the center of the cage and cradles McDonough from half-guard, trying to pass to side control. McDonough puts him in guard and Buck thumps his opponent’s ribs with a couple punches. Referee Doug Burch stands up the welterweights, and McDonough hits another spinning back-kick to Buck’s ribs. Another uppercut connects and Buck is on his back foot, falling to the ground as McDonough rushes him. McDonough lands left hands as Buck covers up, then a knee to the head which referee Burch deems illegal despite Buck’s hand being off the ground when the strike connects.

Keith Mills

McDonough got buckwild on Buck.
Buck gets a minute to recover before the fight resumes. Buck tries to shoot after getting clipped by a couple hooks from McDonough, can’t get the takedown. McDonough moves counterclockwise around the outside while Buck pulls up short with probing punches. Buck sticks a left hand to the belly of McDonough, who continues moving and then lunges in with another big uppercut.

The next spinning back-kick from McDonough lands on the liver and sends Buck to the ground; this time, McDonough pounds away with hammer fists until referee Burch intervenes.

Dan Charles vs. Siala-Mou “Mighty Mo” Siliga

Round 1

Charles sets up on the outside while the K-1 veteran stalks him from the middle. A right hand connects for “Mighty Mo,” followed by a takedown attempt from Charles which Mo sprawls on. They pop back up and Charles presses his man against the fence. A knee inside hits Mo on the cup, and the big man takes a few seconds to compose himself before coming out of the corner. The heavyweights are only fighting for a few seconds before Mo repays the favor with a low knee of his own. Charles recovers, too, and comes back to try and clinch up, but he’s shoved away. Mo misses with a pair of overhand rights, gets countered with a short right from Charles. Now it’s Mo looking for a single-leg against the fence; he gets Charles to the ground briefly, then has to defend a guillotine choke when Charles stands back up. Mo holds him against the fence, and Charles leans back to try and crank the guillotine, but he loses the grip and Mo pops his head free. Mo lands a short left against the fence, backpedals to avoid a Charles shot, then connects with a short right to finish the round.

Starks defends both and shoves Yager away to get back to striking. Yager scores with a kick to the body, then pays for it with a left hook on the cheek. Burley turns around to put Jenkins against the fence, but again the wrestler drives ahead and hits another takedown. A wild scramble ensues and Jenkins takes Burley’s back, trying for a rear-naked choke which doesn’t stick. Jenkins sinks in both hooks on his kneeling opponent, but Burley is able to explode to his feet. Jenkins has him back on the ground in a matter of moments, unloading with punches. Jenkins stands and sticks a jab in Burley’s face, then ducks a high kick. Burley comes away from the next exchange complaining of an eye poke, and referee Al Guinee calls time. Burley recovers quickly and comes forward swinging big punches; he defends the next shot from Jenkins, but the second effort from the former collegiate wrestling champ puts Burley on the ground. Burley stands and steps away from the next shot, then shoves the tired Jenkins to the ground and steps into full mount. Jenkins eats a couple punches before sitting up and tossing Burley to his back. Jenkins can’t keep Burley there, and when he gets up, Burley drills the kneeling Jenkins with a hard knee to the shoulder. Ref Guinee stops the fight, thinking the knee landed on Jenkins’ head. Action resumes after a minute and Burley charges Jenkins with a flying knee and a barrage of punches against the fence. Jenkins is covering up, his hands hanging low, but he’s able to move off the fence with one minute left in the round. Burley lands a hard leg kick, gets backed off by a jab. Marx gives referee Doug Burch a thumbs-up, stays still and eventually is able to buck out of the choke. Marx is still not out of trouble, as Bender catches him kneeling and sinks in both hooks before falling to his back. Bender tries a rear-naked choke, can’t get his arm under Marx’s chin. The next attempt from Bender falls short, too, and Marx continues to fight him off with hand control inside the last 90 seconds of the round. Marx rolls to his knees and Bender stays with him, remaining in back-mount and still hunting for the RNC with both hooks in. Bender puts a right hand under Marx’s armpit and rolls him over again, trying for yet another rear-naked choke as time expires.

Bender is looking lost as he moves around the perimeter, seemingly just waiting for Marx to strike. Marx obliges with a Superman punch against the fence, followed by a low kick and a right hand. Ron Keslar vs. Luis “Sergio Junior” Melo

Keslar lands some heavy right hands as he dives through Melo’s legs, then comes to the ground in side control. Melo rolls to his knees and leaves his neck exposed, allowing Keslar to hold him in place with a headlock. Keslar keeps a Thai plum as Melo stands up and works the Brazilian’s body with knees as they move to the fence. Melo gives Keslar a knee in return as the welterweights fight inside, with Keslar keeping Melo’s back pressed against the cage through the middle of the round. Both men land short, peppering punches as referee Ron Nation tells them to get busy. The fighters separate and Keslar slugs “Sergio Junior” with a good right hand, then dodges a spinning kick. Melo leaps in with a missed flying knee and a pair of punches behind it which connect, then pushes Keslar to the fence. Keslar turns it around with an underhook and holds Melo on the cage for 20 seconds before splitting. The Brazilian gives up his back and Keslar sinks in both hooks as Melo sits up against the cage. Keslar stalls out and Melo looks to ref Ron Nation for a stand-up, to no avail. Melo begins elbowing Keslar’s thigh, then throws no-look punches over his shoulder with some success. Keslar gets active with a rear-naked choke attempt; he can’t finish, but he does switch to a tight body-triangle from back mount. Melo is still looking for a restart on the feet, elbowing Keslar’s knee with one minute left in the round. Keslar still can’t get the RNC, and now Melo is getting the better of the position with his elbows and punches. Melo cranks the guillotine for a solid 20 seconds before releasing and dropping hammer fists on the head of the barely conscious Keslar, who is trying to pick the ankle.

K. Mills

Keslar's back control got him the W.
Melo can’t pound him out, so he drops for an armbar and winds up underneath Keslar. Now it’s Keslar taking Melo’s back again with two minutes left in the fight. Melo goes back to fighting off RNC attempts and punching over his shoulder, connecting with lefts that have Keslar squinting his right eye.
