The World Series of Fighting continues to bolster its female talent pool.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced via Twitter on Monday that it has signed Ashlee Evans-Smith and Emi Fujino. MMAJunkie.com first reported the new additions to the roster on Sunday.
Evans-Smith, 26, is unbeaten in two appearances under the Championship Fighting Alliance banner. She earned her most notable victory on Oct. 12, when she stopped transgender fighter Fallon Fox in the third round at CFA 12. Evans-Smith also owns a three-round verdict over “TUF 18” cast member Jessamyn Duke during a nine-bout amateur career. While the Subfighter MMA product has previously competed at featherweight, she is expected to drop to 135 pounds for her WSOF debut.
The 33-year-old Fujino is a 20-fight veteran with experience fighting for the Jewels, Deep and Pancrase promotions. The Japanese strawweight began her professional tenure with eight consecutive wins but has posted a 5-7 mark since 2008. Fujino is 2-1 in 2013, dropping a unanimous decision to Mizuki Inoue in her most recent outing.
