Artur Sowinski to Defend Featherweight Belt Against ‘Jacarezinho’ at KSW 34

A third title fight is officially set for KSW 34, as reigning featherweight champ Artur Sowinski will defend his belt against Brazilian prospect Fabiano Silva da Conceicao on March 5.

The Polish promotion announced the matchup on Tuesday. KSW 34 takes place at Torwar Hall in Warsaw and is headlined by a heavyweight championship clash between Karol Bedorf and James McSweeney. Tomas Narkun will defend his light heavyweight strap against Andre Muniz in the co-main event.

Sowinksi, who is unbeaten in his last five outings, will be making his first title defense after capturing the inaugural 145-pound belt with a decision victory over Kleber Koike Erbst this past November. The 28-year-old Pole owns a 16-7 career mark, with 12 victories via knockout, technical knockout or submission.

A member of Brazil’s X-Gym, “Jacarezinho” is coming off a second-round KO triumph over Rolando Velasco at Tachi Palace Fights 22 nearly a year ago. The victory would have netted Conceicao the promotion’s bantamweight crown, but a failed weight cut cost him that opportunity. The 27-year-old Jungle Fight veteran is 26-6-1 as a pro, with eight wins by KO/TKO and 12 by submission.
