Alexis Davis Returns to Fight Sara McMann at ‘TUF 24’ Finale
Bantamweights Alexis Davis and Sara McMann will square off against one another on “The Ultimate Fighter 24” Finale on Dec. 3 in Las Vegas, according to a report on ESPN.com.
Winning five consecutive bouts allowed “Ally-Gator” to land a crack at then-champion Ronda Rousey’s title, but Davis was flattened in just 16 seconds two years ago. The Canadian veteran bounced back with a win over Sarah Kaufman in April 2015 but took the rest of the year off and most of 2016 when she gave birth to her son.
McMann was an unbeaten contender but she, too, ran into the Rousey buzzsaw, though she lasted longer than Davis did. The former Olympic wrestler was knocked out by “Rowdy” Ronda in 66 seconds, but while she has been relatively active since the loss, McMann has gone just 2-2. She’s coming off a decision win over Jessica Eye at UFC Fight Night 88 in May.
The TUF 24 Finale, which will go down inside the Palms Hotel and will be televised on FS1, will be headlined by the flyweight championship between titleholder Demetrious Johnson and the winner of the reality show.
