Unbeaten Brazilian middleweight Alberto
Pereira Uda will make his Octagon debut against Jake
Collier at UFC
Fight Night on May 29.
Promotion officials recently announced that Uda was signed to replace Keith Berish, who withdrew from the matchup with Collier due to injury. UFC Fight Night takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and is headlined by a bantamweight showdown between Thomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt.
Uda, who trains part time at Nova Uniao, is 9-0 since beginning his professional career in 2011. Most recently, he scored a first-round TKO triumph against three-time UFC veteran Thiago de Oliveira Perpetuo at XFC International 13 on Dec. 5. All but one of Uda’s victories have come inside the distance.
Collier is 1-2 in the promotion, with his lone victory coming via split decision against Ricardo Abreu at UFC Fight Night in New Orleans last June. In his last outing, Collier suffered a TKO loss to Dongi Yang at UFC Fight Night in South Korea on Nov. 28.
