After Jamie Moyle Injury Nixes UFC 220 Bout, Maryna Moroz Now Faces Angela Hill at UFC on Fox 28

Maryna Moroz may have had her UFC 220 bout canceled, but she won’t need to wait long to get back into the Octagon.

UFC on Fox 28 will now feature a strawweight contest between Moroz and former Invicta Fighting Championships titleholder Angela Hill. The Orlando Sentinel was first to report the pairing on Monday.

UFC on Fox 28, headlined by a featherweight contest between Josh Emmett and Jeremy Stephens, is scheduled for Feb. 24 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

The 26-year-old Moroz has gone 3-2 in her Octagon tenure, debuting with a 90-second armbar upset of Joanne Calderwood in April 2015. After dropping a unanimous decision to Valerie Letourneau, she rebounded by taking verdicts over Cristina Stanciu and Danielle Taylor. In her last Octagon appearance, she was outwrestled by former UFC champ Carla Esparza and dropped another judges’ nod.

“The Iron Lady” was scheduled to face American Jamie Moyle at UFC 220 in Boston this past Saturday, but Moyle suffered an undisclosed injury, canceling the bout during fight week.

After a 4-0 run in Invicta and becoming the promotion’s 115-pound champ, Hill returned to the UFC last February, dropping a decision in a memorable brawl with Jessica Andrade. “Angie Overkill” earned her first UFC win in July topping Ashley Yoder, but her roll was slowed at UFC Fight Night 120 in November, when she suffered a minor upset loss to Nina Ansaroff over 15 minutes.
