McGee will meet Ultimate Warrior Challenge veteran Kris McCray
in the middleweight final at “The Ultimate Fighter” 11 Finale on
June 19 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Five previously
unannounced bouts have been added to the event, according to Spike
TV officials.
McGee lost a majority decision to Nick Ring in a first-round bout but received a reprieve from UFC President Dana White, who allowed him to replace an injured cast member. He capitalized.
McGee, 24, suffered his only loss to former UFC light heavyweight
title contender Jeremy Horn.
Based in Orem, Utah, the former plumber was once pronounced dead
following a heroin overdose. He has rattled off two straight wins
but has not officially competed since 2008, when he defeated World
Extreme Cagefighting veteran Isidro
Gonzalez. McGee also holds a 2007 submission victory over “The
Ultimate Fighter” Season 9 runner-up DaMarques
Johnson.
Like McGee, McCray was given a second wind in the tournament following a first-round decision loss. He was one of two wild cards named by White and made the most of his opportunity.
Other bouts announced for “The Ultimate Fighter 11” Finale include Kyle Noke vs. Josh Bryant, Jamie Yager vs. Rich Attonito, Brad Tavares vs. Seth Baczynski and Chris Camozzi vs. James Hammortree.
A light heavyweight duel between Keith Jardine and Matt Hamill will headline “The Ultimate Fighter 11” Finale. Other bouts greenlit for the event include a middleweight match pairing Aaron Simpson with Chris Leben, a lightweight tilt pitting Spencer Fisher against Dennis Siver and a heavyweight clash between James McSweeney and UFC newcomer Travis Browne. In addition, International Fight League veteran John Gunderson will lock horns with Mark Holst.

McCray has finished all five of his opponents inside one round, the
last three in less than a minute. Born to a military father, the
28-year-old was raised in Germany and ultimately spent time in the
United States Army Reserves. Spawned by the Gold Medal Grappling
camp in Woodbridge, Va., McCray last competed in November, when he
submitted King of the Cage veteran Marcus
Ajian in 45 seconds at a Ballroom Battleground show in
Maryland.
