How to Watch MVP ‘Paul vs. Silva’

Jake Paul will put his undefeated record on the line when he boxes former Ultimate Fighting Championship titleholder Anderson Silva in the eight-round Most Valuable Promotions cruiserweight main event on Saturday at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The two men agreed to face one another at 187 pounds.

Paul, a 25-year-old YouTube star turned pro boxer, enters the ring at 5-0 with four knockouts.

“For sure I have more pressure on my shoulders,” the Cleveland native said during the final press conference preceding the event. “Just being the ‘A’ side and [with] the amount of s--- I talk, I think the entire MMA community is waiting for me to lose. They want me to lose. I just have so many more big ideas and plans in this sport, and I just plan on being here forever. This is the start of that, and the pressure is on.”

Silva, 47, held the UFC middleweight championship from Oct. 14, 2006 to July 6, 2013 and owns a 3-1 mark as a boxer.

“I don’t believe this affects my legacy in my journey in combat sports,” the Brazilian said. “I try to do my best to give something to the new generation. Jake and I are bringing two big generations together. People think this will affect my legacy or affect Jake’s legacy, but I don’t believe that because it’s about passion and love.”

MVP “Paul vs. Silva”—which airs live on Showtime pay-per-view at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT—will also feature a lightweight tilt pitting Ashton Sylve against Braulio Rodriguez, a bantamweight rematch pairing Alejandro Santiago with Antonio Nieves and a cruiserweight battle matching Chris Avila with Mikhail Varshavski. In addition, “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 17 finalist Uriah Hall faces former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell in a four-round cruiserweight clash contracted at 195 pounds.
