(PRESS RELEASE) -- Albuquerque, NM – Jackson’s MMA has partnered
with Bernalillo County Deputies’ Association to raise money for
Deputy Robin Hopkins who was critically injured in a gun battle on
October 26th. Deputy Hopkins, who suffered a gunshot wound to the
leg, remains in critical condition at the University of New Mexico
Hospital.
Greg Jackson, of Jackson’s MMA, praised law enforcement for their heroic actions, “Like our entire community, we were shocked by the events that unfolded on Saturday. While many were looking for cover along the gunman’s path, our dedicated officer and deputies drove directly into harms way.” Ricky Kottenstette, GM of Jackson’s MMA, added, “Dep. Hopkins, an officer and athlete, is known for being caring and compassionate. She has spent her life helping others, now it’s our time to help her.”
Detective Kyle Hartstock, President of the Bernalillo County
Deputies’ Association said, “For those that know Robin, she is one
of the most hard working and heart-felt deputies in our department.
She represents all that is good in the ranks of our law enforcement
community.” Hartstock also thanked the community for their
outpouring of support, “We can’t thank everyone enough for the
incredible support for our officers and deputies, especially
Jackson’s MMA and their fighters for their willingness to help
Robin.”
