By The Numbers: Nate Marquardt

Whenever Nate Marquardt decides to hang up the gloves for good, he can do so with a smile of contentment on his face. His accomplishments are many, his experiences rich.

A former Strikeforce and Pancrase champion, Marquardt carries a 36-20-2 career record that features a 78% finishing rate and memorable encounters with some of the sport’s all-time greats. The longtime Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt retired in 2017 but returned to the stage a little less than four years later, breaking even in two outings since. Marquardt last competed at Xtreme MMA 3, where he succumbed to a body kick and follow-up punches from Valdir Araujo in the second round of their Oct. 23 confrontation. It was his 10th loss in 14 appearances.
