Shayna Baszler made an appearance in the professional wrestling world this past weekend, less than 24 hours after one of her partners in the “Four Horsewomen” retained her Ultimate Fighting Championship title. “Queen of Spades” accompanied reDRagon to the ring for their tag team title defense at Ring of Honor’s 13th Anniversary show and then helped cut this promo afterwards.

TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood returned to the Sherdog Radio Network on Wednesday for another edition of “Beatdown.” Joining them on this edition of the program were UFC women’s bantamweight fighters Shayna Baszler, Sarah Kaufman, former UFC fighter David Mitchell and Fernando Gonzalez.

Women’s mixed martial arts has been a focal point for the Ultimate Fighting Championship for the last year. Two longtime veterans, Baszler and Kaufman, joined the program Wednesday to talk about the long road to the Octagon, where they feel women’s MMA would be without champion Ronda Rousey, and what they expect from one another in their April rematch.

Mitchell all but struck out of the UFC going 1-4 on MMA’s biggest stage. He has since changed training camps and looks to rebound this Saturday night against Gonzalez at West Coast Fighting Championships 8. Both Mitchell and Gonzalez join “Beatdown” at the exact same time. The two welterweights discuss their fight, how the believe it will go down, and if this is a fight that will usher Mitchell back in to the UFC conversation or launch a relatively unknown Gonzalez in to the radar of MMA prospects.

De Santis and Sherwood have been away from the SRN for a week. They get caught up with MMA current events, chat about the upcoming UFC card which pits Lyoto Machida against Gegard Mousasi, and recount some shenanigans from the road.

Shayna Baszler, on “Beatdown,” discussing her UFC goals:

“There’s a few things I’d like to get done in the UFC. I want to show everyone. Of course, Julianna [Pena]. I want to have my rubber match with Alexis [Davis]; that’d be nice. Somewhere in there there’s a rematch with Sara McMann that I would be interested in, but ultimately, my goal is the same as anybody’s that goes into the UFC. I tell Ronda [Rousey] every day that I am coming after her belt. In the end, whatever path leads me to a fight with Ronda, before she gets sick of armbarring people, is the path I want to take. Everybody else is just a body waiting to be broken.”

TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood returned to the Sherdog Radio Network Monday for another edition of “Beatdown.” Joining them were fighters Lavar Johnson, Joe Warren, and “TUF 18” cast member Shayna Baszler.

Johnson makes his Bellator debut this Friday night in Visalia, Calif. The UFC vet talks about his release from the UFC, his suspension from not disclosing the use of testosterone replacement therapy, and his goals going forward in mixed martial arts.

Warren was back in action last Friday night in Bellator after being deemed “medically unfit” earlier this month. Warren talks about the process of getting approved to fight and what went through his mind when some suggested that his career might be over. “The Baddest Man on the Planet” also talks about punching his ticket to the bantamweight finale with his first submission victory.

Baszler was back on “Beatdown” to talk about the latest episode of Fox Sports 1’s “The Ultimate Fighter.” The Team Rousey fighter talks about her team getting in the win column for the first time as Jessica Rakoczy defeated Roxanne Modafferi by second round TKO. Baszler talks about seeing her teammate wins and her friend lose. Shayna also defends her coach to those who thinks the Olympian falls under the category of bully.
