Thanks to the violent efforts of the men on the marquee, UFC Fight Night “Brown vs. Silva” was one to remember. In the end, Matt Brown was able to weather an early onslaught from his Brazilian opponent to prevail via TKO 2:11 into the third round of their welterweight headliner at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati on Saturday night.
To get there, Brown had to survive several body blows and a rear-naked choke attempt, but once he got rolling, “The Immortal’s” offensive arsenal was a sight to behold. The Ohio native attacked with a variety of punches, elbows , knees, kicks and submission attempts before earning the finish with a volley of standing-to-ground strikes in the third frame. Perhaps the only thing more exciting than Brown’s fight are his future prospects.
