PBC Lays Out Initial Plans for 2017

Premier Boxing Champions will have broadcast a total of 90 events by the time 2016 closes out and the company already has vigorous plans for 2017, which will effectively be its third year of existence.

PBC will host two more boxing events this year. On Nov. 12 in Philadelphia, Danny Garcia will take on Samuel Vargas and PBC will end the year with a bang as Jesus Cuellar will put his WBA featherweight crown on the line against multi-division world champ Abner Mares and Jermall Charlo will defend his IBF super welterweight title against Julian Williams in Los Angeles.

PBC will resume its broadcast partnerships with Spike, NBC, ESPN, Showtime/CBS, Fox/FSI and Bounce TV and the plan is to host more primetime shows than in years past. For starters, Fox will air three primetime events while cable off-shoot FS1 is slated to televise 25 shows. NBC will also air three primetime events, but none of them will occur until at least September. ESPN is scheduled for 12 shows between April and August while CBS/Showtime will broadcast a number of “select” shows throughout the year.

The first PBC event of 2017 will be on Spike, which goes down on Jan. 13 and will continue to be a part of the network’s Combat Sports Friday series. And finally, Bounce TV is slated to serve up one boxing event per quarter, with the first one set for March 31.No fighters or matchups were announced for any of the 2017 shows as of yet.
