Hollenbeck to Fight Malaipet for Title at Lion Fight 32 in Las Vegas

Lion Fight, America’s leading Muay Thai promotion, announced on Friday that it will be staying home next month.

Lion Fight 32 will be held in Las Vegas at the Tropicana Casino Hotel Resort on Oct. 21 and will be anchored by a super welterweight championship bout between Ky Hollenbeck and Malaipet Sasiprapa.

Hollenbeck (20-5-1) is riding a three-fight winning streak going into his title fight with the Thai standout. At Lion Fight 30, he earned a unanimous technical decision over Mark Holst when the fight was stopped early due to severe lacerations suffered by Hollenbeck thanks to unintentional head butts. Hollenbeck is 5-0 in the Lion Fight ring and aims to continue that trend in October.

Malaipet (145-30-6) began his tenure in Lion Fight on fire, winning five in a row, including knockouts of Vishnu Galati and Caio Uruguai. From there, however, he has gone just 2-3 including a decision loss to Fabio Pinca for the promotion’s lightweight belt.

“Muay Thai fans around the world have been wanting to see Malaipet in action again,” said Lion Fight CEO Scott Kent. “His status is legendary. There is no better opponent for him than Ky Hollenbeck, and fittingly they should go head-to-head for a title.”

Also slated for the bill will be a matchup between unbeaten prospects Travis Clay (3-0) and Marvin Madriaga (5-0); Josh Shepard will lock horns with Gabriel Mazzetti (11-2); Victor Saravia will oppose Cody Allen Moberly (23-14); and Romie Adanza (18-7) will square off against Ming Freeman (5-0-1).

Additional bouts will be announced soon.
