Glory 42: Paris, SuperFight Series Cards Finalized

Glory announced on Thursday its finalized Glory 42: Paris and SuperFight Series cards, set for June 10 at AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France. Reigning welterweight champion Cedric “The Best” Doumbe will put his title on the line against a man he knows well: Nieky Holzken.

Doumbe (66-4-1, 39 KOs) scored a sizeable upset last December at Glory: Collision as he systematically picked apart Holzken to snatch away the title. Holzken (90-12, 46 KOs) won the title and had defended it successfully three consecutive times before running into Doumbe and hasn’t fought since. Doumbe, meanwhile, followed up his title-winning performance with a sensational defense against Yoann Kongolo at Glory 39 in March. Their matchup anchors the entire night of fights.

The Glory 42: Paris co-feature will see Harut Grigorian (44-10, 32 KOs) lock horns with Murthel Groenhart (65-22-3, 37 KOs). The bout, which was initially booked for Glory 41 earlier this month, will determine who is next in line for the welterweight championship.

The main card will also feature a one-night, four-man lightweight contender tournament, with the winner earning a shot champion Sitthichai later this year. In the first of two semifinal match-ups, Anatoly Moiseev (16-2, 5 KOs) will take on Christian Baya (57-5-1, 34 KOs). Niclas Larsen (46-8-2, 24 KOs) will oppose Stoyan Koprivlenski on the other side of the bracket, with both winners meeting later in the evening.

The Glory 42 SuperFight Series undercard will be headlined by Kongolo (64-9, 46 KOs) taking on Yohan Lidon (92-35-1, 55 KOs) in a special welterweight attraction. Lidon steps in to replace the injured Antoine Pinto on relatively short notice.

Jimmy Vienot (56-12, 27 KOs) will collide with fellow welterweight Francois Ambang (17-6, 6 KOs); Dylan Salvador 49-12-1, 21 KOs) will clash with former world champion Serhiy Adamchuk 34-8, 14 KOs); Nicolas Wamba (47-7, 21 KOs) will collide with Jhonata Diniz (15-5, 10 KOs); Zinedine Hameur-Lain (57-15, 36 KOs) is set to face fellow light heavyweight Freddy Kemayo (68-23-1, 47 KOs); and lightweights Marat Grigorian (49-10-2, 30 KOs) and Antonio Gomez (50-8-2, 29 KOs) will tango.

The action will begin with the Glory 42 SuperFight Series, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass at 12:30 p.m. ET/9:30 a.m. PT. The action will then switch over ESPN2 for the Glory 42 main card, which starts at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT.
