Bjorn Rebney: Settlement Not Likely in Legal Dispute with Eddie Alvarez

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney, on the May 1 episode of “Beatdown,” discussing Bellator’s legal battle with Eddie Alvarez:

“It’s just gone dark. A couple of months ago I thought there might be an opening for a settlement. I was hopeful and we were talking with Ed and his team and it looked like there was an opening, and at this point, it doesn’t look like there was an opening. We’re allowing the legal process to follow through and go down the road that it goes through, which is not a quick road. There’s really nothing to report. … Ed and I had some contact a couple of months ago, and that was the genesis of us sitting down and talking, when I thought the door opened and we might have a chance to settle. We sat down and we had a good conversation, and I thought there was some light at the end of the tunnel, and it just didn’t come to fruition. It was disappointing. I’d love to get it settled. I would have liked to have gotten it settled then, but at this point, it doesn’t look like it’s going to settle.”
